DBT FUNDED RESEARCH PROJECT

A DBT (Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India) funded research project entitled “Role of calcium binding protein parvalbumin extracted from natural sources of Assam on neural plasticity associated with epilepsy” is going on in Swahid Smriti Mahavidyalaya. The research project is a collaborative project where different institutions are involved. Co-Investigator from Guwahati Medical College Neurology Department, Pub Kamrup College Botany Department and Coordinator from Easter Karbi Anlong Zoology Department are involved. Dr. Manash Barthakur, Principal & Principal Investigator is coordinating this collaborative project. Different sophisticated instruments like (16 channel data acquisition system (telemetric EEG recorder), Fluorescence inverted microscope with video capturing facilities are purchased under this project fund. The total Rs. 89,91920/- (Eighty Nine Lakhs Ninety One Thousand Nine Hundred and Twenty Only) has been sanctioned for this research project.
